North Carolina is a state rich in history, and its 22 state historic sites help to tell its story. Visiting these sites, you not only learn about North Carolina's history but also experience the state's scenic diversity and natural beauty. These sites chronicle more than six centuries, from the ancient Native American civilization at Town Creek Indian Mound to the marvels of technology showcased at the North Carolina Transportation Museum.
